The RTU can control a rooftop unit independently without the need of a central controller (such as Emerson’s Einstein BX Refrigeration Controller). However, the RTU is designed to interface with an Einstein BX or BCU to allow it to work with other RTUs together to control large zones. Networking RTU to a central controller also allows you to view status on Einstein & UltraSite32 status screens, report alarms, and control dehumidification. The RTU’s configuration can be programmed either with an Emerson Hand-Held Terminal (HHT) or through the Einstein front panel.
